Bag into the swing of things!

Hey all! I haven't written a new post in a while, I took a long break from blogging as you might have seen.

I'd like my first post to be about the new world I've been playing in the latest Minecraft update 1.0.0

I have been playing the new Hardcore mode. Hardcore mode for you who don't know are whenever you die that's it. No do overs or restarts. It deletes your world to make it no longer playable again. I have been playing on this world ever since 1.0 has been out and I am loving this mode. It makes everything much better, you have to be more cautious and you actually have to keep track of where you are in the world as opposed to just dying to respawn in your bed.

In addition to you only having one life, the game difficulty is stuck on Hard which means monsters are much more difficult to kill and will hurt you for a lot more damage - that makes caves and ravines much more difficult to take out.

I will be posting updates to how my world is going and hopefully a lot more tutorials later.

Tip of the day.

Tip of the day;

Add levers to the bottoms of your furnace. Have them pointing up so you'll know it's empty and down so you know that something has been cooked in it.

Tutorial : How to make a Tree Farm.

Dirt blocks 2 metres apart.

First place some dirt/grass blocks two spaces away from each other.
Torches on the sides

To speed up the growing, or if you are growing indoors place torches on each sides of the dirt.
Saplings on top.

Place a sapling on top of each dirt block.
All done!

Wait a couple of Minecraft days.

(Don't worry if your trees all don't grow at once, it's random.)

Tutorial : How to make a incinerator.

Dig a hole in one corner

Put your lava in one corner.

Tutorial : How to make a Farm

2x2 hole
The first step in making a farm is to have an unlimited water supply. If you are near an ocean, this step can be skipped.

Dig a 2X2 hole to start off with.

Unlimited Water Source

Now you can put two buckets of water in the upper right hand corner and the bottom left hand corner.

That is your unlimited water source.

Irrigation Hole

Now you can dig a channel for your water to go into. This will be for your farm and it'll make your crops grow much faster than unhydrated land.

Crops tilled and planted

Added steps over water for harvesting.

Fill the canal up with water, make sure all the water connects.

Till the ground with a hoe and plant your seeds.

You can get seeds by using a hoe on the grass.
Fenced in the crops.

Put some steps over the water to allow you to harvest your crops.

This step is optional. If you want you can add fences around your crops so animals won't trample them, if you are making an indoor farm this won't be a problem.

Crops are grown!

All done farming !

After a couple of Minecraft days, your crops will grow and be ready for harvest. You can make bread out of the wheat you gather.

Tutorial : How to survive your first night in Minecraft.

Just started off in a new world.
First thing you need to do is to find a tree. Then punch it until it gives you it's wood.
Then make that wood into wooden planks.

To make a crafting bench.
Now we need to find some coal/ stone. It is usually found in caves or by mountain sides.

To mine this, we need a pickaxe. First we need to make a wooden pick. Make sticks then use planks to manufacture it into a pick.
After you make the pickaxe, mine the coal and make it into torches shown below.
Oh no! Night has come. Watch out, the monsters come out at night such as zombies, skeletons and creepers.

If you want to make a wooden door, go ahead. it allows you to get in and out of your building safely.
I made a stone sword because I play on Hard and I need it to fend away creatures. I recommend one.

Here I make chests. You can store items in them.
 My house from the inside.
My house facing the entrance. (Also, a zombie.)
 My house from the front.
My house facing the side. The house is 7 long by 7 wide and three high, with a raised middle section for the roof. I hope you enjoyed this, and survived your night.
